Factors To Help Choose Your Hair Colour.

There are several ways to venture into a new hair colour but finding the right one requires knowledge and training on skin tone, eye colour and of course the quality of the hair itself.

Also choosing a hair colour is a personal choice, and no one knows you better than yourself, so don’t feel overwhelmed by the overflow of choices. Instead, listen to our advice and then trust your instinct and follow these few handy tips to find the colour that best suits your features and skin tone:

Tip #1:  Choose warm colours for warm skin tones.

Example: Hair Colour -Golden Brown

Skin colour-   PEACHY

Eyes – Warm, Green, Hazel

Tip #2: Cool colours for cool skin tones. Pale skin types will pair best with ashy hair tones or tinged reds. Choosing a darker hair colour will compromise how your skin tone looks and may make you look even more pale or fair.

Tip #3: Don’t stray too far from your natural colour. Typically, your natural colour is the best for your skin tone, but many find that their hair colour changes as they change. So, you may prefer the colour you had a few years ago as opposed to the colour it is today. Fortunately, it affords some wiggle room to go a few shades darker or lighter, but you shouldn’t stray too far from your natural colour. If you don’t maintain the colour, you will end up with two-toned hair as it grows out.

Tip #4: Take small steps. Dramatic changes require time to ensure you don’t damage or compromise your hair. For instance, going from dark hair to blonde. This process should be done gradually with rest periods to repair and build back the moisture level and repair the natural keratin.

TIP #5: Apply Moisturising masks and replenish the hair rather than applying three rounds of bleach one after the other, which will likely damage your hair to an irreparable extent.

We’re all for giving yourself a new look, and our professionals will help you find the best colour, style and maintenance for your features and skin tone. So, contact us today to schedule an appointment at our Tweed Heads hair salon!
