Hair is emotional
We all know how difficult it is to try and apply our own hair colour but to try and remove artificial colour is a job best left to the professional.
Not only is hair a mirror of our personality and health, it’s also an emotional attachment.
I couldn’t agree more with the common opinion that hair is emotional – I recently met a young woman who told me that due to her hair struggles she could barely leave the house or face the world to do anything.
‘OMG my hair broke off!!’
She was too embarrassed to go to out as her hair had to be cut very short, she felt ugly and not game enough to show herself. She had done a home job and put a lightener over her home coloured dark brown hair. The result was spotty: orange, red, yellow and a lot of breakage and damage, the hair was falling out in clumps. Her only option was to cut the whole lot off almost to the scalp and start all over again. So many tears.
Of course, it’s going to take a couple of years to regain her previous length, but her journey can and will be fun, having the opportunity to experiment with fashionable haircuts and beautiful colours and of course incorporating the magical hair care regime ‘Extensionist’ by Kerastase.
Because we genuinely believe in the transformative power of new and easy seasonal hairstyles and the fresh opportunities, not only does it change how we look- it changes how we feel.
She has now begun a journey to grow her long hair once again and for a hot couple of months a Super Short Pixie Cut with a beautiful fresh blonde and some added pieces of her favourite Smokey Lilac
Twelve months or 6” later the length will provide an opportunity to have a sleek sophisticated shiny edgy bob. You will see the twinkle in her eyes once again as the realisation and excitement begins to explode with fabulous fresh ideas, style and colour wise.
Two years down the track and shoulder length pony tales, up-do’s, fabulous curls and possibly even a Balayage with multi colours.
Throughout this journey she will and has already experienced tears, laughter and confidence to face the world head on.
